Dear prospective Finn World Masters participant,

We understand that there has been questions iom whether the Russian war on Ukraine will impact the Finn World Masters 2022 in Helsinki. Whilst the war has undoubtedly affected the security situation in Europe and around the world we however do not feel that Finland´s relative situation would have changed.

Our thoughts are with all those who have been and will be affected by this senseless war.

We will carry on with our preparations for Finn World Masters 2022 just like before and with your support and participation we will together make this a great event.

So in 2022 we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Finn class.

The Finn World Masters Championship in Helsinki celebrates
the 70^th Anniversary of the Helsinki Olympics
and the first international event of the Finn Class.

As You all know, the Finn dinghy made its first international appearance at the Helsinki Olympics in July 1952.

Rikard Sarby of Upsala in Sweden had won the design contest for an Olympic Singlehanded dinghy and with some encouragement from the Finns the original name Fint was converted to the Finn that is very familiar.

Helsinki Race Management (HSRM) is very proud to have been entrusted with the task of hosting the Finn Masters World Championships in Helsinki in this very special year and we will do our very best to make the event a truly memorable occasion. To ensure the success coming up we have the resources of seven member clubs.

The base of the venue will be the Helsingfors Segelklubb (HSK) - well reputated for hosting many international regattas over the years (also Open Finn Europeans in 1980)

We will provide You continuously updated information about the regatta itself as well as information about travel, accomodation and so on…...

The official race information concerning the regatta itself as well as practical information.

The official NOR will be posted on December 1st.
