You can get to Helsinki, or other ports, by ferry from a number of countries and ports. The most convenient routes are from Germany (Travemunde) and routes from Sweden (Stockholm, Kapellskär and a new route from Nynäshamn) directly to Helsinki or alternatively to Turku, Naantali or Hanko (all about a 2 hours drive from Helsinki.) There are a few ferry companies operating these routes.
Finnlines will cooperate with Finn World Masters 2022 in Helsinki to provide transport services at a reduced price on certain routes to the participants.
Finnlines is a leading shipping operator of ro-ro and passenger services in the Baltic Sea and the North Sea and operates routes to Finland from Aarhus, Antwerpen, Bilbao, Gdynia, Hull, Kapellskär, Paldiski, St. Petersburg and Travemunde.
Finnlines´ history makes it a very suitable partner for our 70-year celebrations of the Finn since its debut in the Helsinki Olympics in 1952.
The company was founded in 1947 with its first custom built vessels starting to operate around the time of the 1952 Olympics with one of the very first vessels being named m/s Finnsailor, an especially beautiful name in our opinion!
If you decide to use Finnlines the main passenger route options are Travemunde-Helsinki and Kapellskär (close to Stockholm) - Naantali (close to Turku, a two hour drive from Helsinki).
If you are planning to send boats as freight (on a trailer or in larger consignments using a container or a truck) we suggest Bilbao-Helsinki, Antwerpen-Helsinki or Hull-Helsinki as the main options. Other possibilities are to ship from Aarhus, Gdynia and/or St Petersburg.
Finnlines has concentrated its discount to the most expensive routes which are the passenger route Travemünde-Helsinki and the freight routes.
Travemünde – Helsinki discount is 35% of standard prices for departures from Travemünde 21.-24., and 29.-30. June and with returns from Helsinki 9. -17. July.
For transport combinations of 12 meters and less total length on passenger ferries, bookings should be done before 15. April directly online (finnlines.com) using the FWM2022 discount code. Longer combinations should be booked via mail: email@example.com or phone +358-9-231 43100.
Sweden-Finland (for example Kapellskär-Naantali)
Ferry crossings from Sweden are shorter and thus cheaper. There is a number of different ferry operators to choose from with competitive pricing, the Finnlines connection (with Finnlink) from Kapellskär to Naantali , especially the morning departures, offer great value. We do not offer discounts on these shorter routes. Bookings directly (finnlines.com).
Other options (tallink.com and vikingline.com)

Freight ferries bookings need to be done with Finnlines at the port of origin also latest 15. April to get a discount. Sending boats as freight requires you to team up with a local handling agent at the port of origin, we will then help you with a contact at Finnlines and a handling agent in Helsinki.
If you send an unaccompanied trailer only, that can be towed by a car, we will try, to help you with towing the trailer to the club.
